First late shift in a while last night. Everyone shaking my hand saying welcome back, I’ve only been gone a bl00dy week! Nice to be missed though.

Fiancée woke me up with a coffee and breakfast, and then a VERY good morning. After that we decided to get moving and I headed to the gym.

Feeling a bit low on energy and intensity now, I decided not to add any reps or weight today and just match last sesh and focus on bedding in form. Still a tough session though but sciatica seemed to be improved. Incline and shoulder press I felt a bit apprehensive about but dug deeps and got those reps. T-bars focused on contracting the muscles in my back symmetrically and actually got a cheeky +2 for my trouble.

Face pulls added a light set to prime the movement. Seemed to help a lot. Isolations ok but I did drop a few reps on curls, but this is because I didn’t turn my wrist this time like a hammer curl.

The plan was to head home and do a bit more wall prep in the toilet and bathroom but after doing the other bits that needed doing I needed to get ready for work. This will be the priority tomorrow though, ready for me and the fiancée to paint on our day off on Monday.

With Notts on the cards tomorrow my session was brought forwards a day. Turned out well despite a full on late shift last night. Fairly quiet, a brief late catch up with a couple of the old crew before I left. A good morning tho.

A: Leg Ext (slight lean): #13, 17, 20, +20, +40 x7, 6
B: Row SL: x92, 120, 141x9, 7
C: Hack Squat - Heels Up: 40, 60, 80, 102.5x8
D: Calf Press 5sec stretch: Hack x120, 160, 185x7, 6
E: Rev Forearm: 30x6, 4... 25x 8

Nothing gained on leg ext but TBH I'm trying to make sure I keep the reps consistent up to the end and not progressing on half reps. Row SL work was smooth tho, an easy +3 here today. Finally hit rep on on hacks, altho had a wobble at the start as rep 1 seemed to see my lower back have a moment, so far no signs of that being an issue tho. Nothing extra on calf work but again, rep consistency key here if I can. Upped forearm as the 25 bar was in use, 30 wasn't pretty if I'm honest with myself but finished with the 25 at the end.

Since August I've had 2 family members, 2 gym mates, 2 college mates and now a 'main' mate all pass.

The boss has said she'll talk to this lad altho I suspect she'll angle it to find out what his issues are, not why he is creating issues for us!

Go on Beefcake!

I had mixed emotions when I bought a pair of 'loose' combats and they were too tight

Sorry to hear about your mate.

I have two funerals next week- one for a mates mother in law (he came to my mums so only fair) and the boys great grandfather. Must be the time of year for it.

Always tricky with painful coworkers, but at least whilst they are present there is something else for everyone to focus on and leave you alone LOL

Finally finished last coat of paint on the doors yesterday. Some tidy up with the glass and of course door handles to be reattached but looking pretty good. Today I dropped the boys off and went to the dentist. Thought about going home for a feed before the gym but decided to just go hungry and have an extra big lunch.

Felt a bit sluggish but pleasingly bench was up +1. Shoulders had nothing to add. Pull-ups moved up one which is always good especially when you’ve added scale weight lol. This was probably the catalyst for my one rep drop in rows though.

Added a light set of rear flyes to try and ‘prime’ the movement better. Seemed to help. Isos solid. Legs blasted. Sciatica has been a bit present of late so some controlled squats and sled hacks were in order. Nice little weight increase too.

Treated myself to a KFC feast on the way home and collected the shopping. Just enough time to eat that, hang out washing, enjoy a cuppa and then off to collect the boys again!
