Bit of a fkced up week, 2 year old has been ill, I got pulled over by the police for a flat tyre when I was picking up my son from nursery (making me late so we'll probably be fined), we're going to be inheriting our neglected 15 year old, type 1 diabetic neice, my step daughters had major surgery on her kidney when the hospital told us it was just keyhole and the absolute crescendo I had my power tools stolen from my tool bag when on my lunch break. It was probably the last 2 hours of me being on that particular site. Also the fact that they were on finance and I'd only paid about a third of the sum for them and I'll now have to go and get some second hand ones.

Christ mate. Hope things ease soon.

That pic would work better smaller

Never.

What a stonking year!

Great opportunity in November, now do yourself proud and come in somewhere near your best. The outcome doesn’t matter as long as you are your best you.

Yes. I still think I should have placed higher at West Midlands. The Brits - I was flat - not much between me, 5th and 4th, but top three were different level I think.

Having had a few weeks to reset, I'm hoping the Worlds will be better.

Yes mate! Welcome back buddy.

Great news on the invite to the finals in Rome, just shows that you have definitely got what they are looking for.

Hope all is well on the home front.

Thanks mate. Yes all good. Definitely taken its toll on the family but it was my wife who insisted I must do the Worlds. Perhaps she wants me out!

Amazing year mate and just the chance to say you have been to worlds is something you cant turn down

No. Experience will be great.

You look phenomenal in your pictures mate?
How's the confidence etc.?

Thanks. These are taken backstage after the shows. The inset top right [abs and thigh] is after the Brits. You can see I look less full. Liverpool show was best condition. Lighting was rubbish tho.
Confidence is fine. I realise I'm lucky with shape, aesthetics etc and can get into top condition. Next year, the IBFA are scrapping Over 40s. So I will just take a long off-season and do a PCA show in October. Aim is to build 10 to 15lbs of muscle.

Hey buddy welcome back!

I wrote you off as one of the guys going separate ways after the forum closed. Glad you joined up mate. Always found your story and your determination very inspiring!

You wrote me off?!  ;D
Cheers mate. I think your work ethic edges mine tho!

Eugene was the name of the pianist who played at my wedding three years ago.

I used that obscure screen name due to some of the topics being discussed on the last forum. That horse has bolted now, of course.

Taken a while to get round to it but here's my journal. I'll try to bring everyone up to speed swiftly:

Four competitions. Four trophies.

2019 has been kind for my debut year in competitive bodybuilding.

1st place in First Timers, 1st place at Mr Liverpool, 3rd place Athletic Tall West Midlands and top six - 6th - at British Finals. With four shows in such close proximity, I was way off my best at the Finals I believe. Looking back, I was far, far better in Liverpool and the West Midlands than the Brits.

Unexpectedly, though, I also received an invite to the IBFA World Finals on November 3.

The federation want us to travel as 'Team GB', complete with Team GB tracksuits. So, while I do not think I will place in the top six, I have to go just to say I've been part of that.

Right now I am approaching 12 weeks out. Cardio has begun and calories are going down gradually. Got about 10lbs to lose I reckon.

Here's a pic some of my work colleagues put together:

The Oxterminator! 13 weeks out. Christ. Serious stuff coming mate. Have you put together posing routine to music yet? Refine, refine, refine. Finding time is tough but you have to find it. Ahead of my first comp, I was getting in from work at about midnight, doing my cardio, then posing. I did so much practice, I really don't think I could do any more. Then on stage, they swapped the places round and I was hitting my poses first and early and had to hold them while the others got into theirs. I was knackered. Backstage I was breathing heavily. If I hadn't practised, all that would have shown on stage. You sound in a good place though my friend. Remember, anything you need etc, I'm on Whatsapp. I'm 15 weeks out myself!
