Really hard to tell buddy. I've not been around a lot of people last few weeks, but have had to go to supermarket. Most have adhered to social distancing, but not everyone sadly. There have been 23 confirmed cases in the area out of 167k people. Hoping it's not related, but symptoms are similar. For now, I'm self isolating for as long as possible. But if things persist for too long or get worse then I'll have to see about potentially getting tested. But for now, staying home

I've had symptoms the last few days and feel absolutely shocking, never felt like this in my life. Have had more enjoyable hangovers lol. So I'm now in full blown isolation as per the rules, all training out the window, as I have very little energy. Appetite completely shot as well, so my recent course results are going to unravel fast. So just going to do my absolute best to keep protein as high as possible, stay rehydrated and sleep as much as I can.

Catch on the other side and enjoy the bodyweight training, I'd love to have the energy to manage a single pushup just now :-D

Nice one buddy, and sorry for the slow reply. This CV19 has really **** everyone in different ways. I'm now trying to do everything I can to retain what I could from the Var cycle, from home. But it's all bodyweight stuff, so much higher reps and more sets to get a good work out in and not end up looking malnourished lol but much bigger things to be concerned with with this damn virus

Thanks for the tip on next cycle. I'll look at this all again once we're ALL out the other side of this damn virus and everything is generally in a better place

Hope you, friends, family are staying safe and healthy. Same goes for the rest of the members on here still active

Hi All

Just finished 50mg per day 6 week Anavar course and now on PCT. Hadn't done a course of anything for probably the best part of 12 years. So didn't know what to expect, so just rolled with it. Noticed some really nice strength gains, my weight went up about 4kgs, body shape changed nicely and did harden up. I probably made a mistake of not dropping my calories enough to get the benefits of things  like vascularity etc, but all good. It was more a try it rather than wanting to be blown away by it. Whether I'd do it again or not I'm not sure, maybe, but on a cal def next time.

I'm 1.5 weeks into PCT. And my strength gains have remained the same, if anything, in some instances continue to go up. Is this something i can expect to last or likely begin declining? If so, typically when (know everyone is different).

Thinking about my next cycle, which I'll probably look at doing in a few months. But don't know what yet. I've never done an inject cycle, only ever orals. But always favor the courses that show very subtle results in strength, bodyweight, muscle definition etc, so that I can stay under radar and just pass it off as a good diet and training program  ;D

Being a newbie to injecting and wanting subtle over boom, any recommendations? Test e only has been suggested to me. But not sure, would need to research the weekly minimal dosage and inject frequency etc

Cheers

I'm actually doing a sports and exercise nutrition course with a company called Precision Nutrition which is really interesting. They talk about the many ways in which you can track from the super anal, to the more relaxed. One concept they do talk about a lot and push through infographics etc is using your hands for portion control and adjusting accordingly. So you're not complete tracking, such as weighing everything out, putting it into MFP, but you are tracking progress through things like scale, mirror, clothes and bodyfat measurements for those that want to and then adjust portion control based on goals / progress. I'm actually thinking of giving it ago

Here's the concept https://www.precisionnutrition.com/calorie-control-guide

My approach will be to increase and decrease portion size per meal or number of meals based on progress

Training & Exercise / Re: Training Splits

Wouldn't mind getting a look at your full routine, if you have time to share it.

Back for example, I'm doing about 18 sets a week. 11 sets on the first session and 7 sets on second session of week. So more set vol on each muscle in first session of week

Sweet.

How many sets per muscle group per session do you run i.e. chest? and your rest periods?

Training & Exercise / Training Splits

Curious what kind of training split people tend to adopt. Plenty of discussion and opinions of the various splits, one often called the bro split, the 1 muscle group per session per week vs something more upper lower, where each muscle gets hit more times per week, but fewer sets per session

I've tried both over the years, but these days opt for more an upper lower split, either over 4 days with 1 day off in middle for cardio, mobility or something active or a 5 day split. Currently following the 5 day, which is upper (back/shoulder), upper (chest arms), lower, upper (all upper groups) lower

What y'all running and if doing more of an upper lower type split, how many sets per muscle group per session, rep ranges and rest periods

Listened to an interesting podcast by Shredded by Science, discussing what's called the bro split vs more frequent training of each muscle group. And it does seem the more frequent approach to training each muscle group is what the science is pointing to as being the best approach for things like hypertrophy

Anyone on here in Manchester? If so, what gym do you train at?

I don't have a family and work from home, so flexible timing to hit gym without disruption, and making things fresh etc super easy :-) weekends a little more difficult, as I do like a beer or 2 and no one wants to hangout with someone who goes to a restaurant and massively picky with food and drink because they're tracking :-)

Not much posted in this section, so thought I'd kick off a topic around tracking and methods used

Do you track marcos? if so, how have you calculated them?
How do you monitor hitting your daily targets? app or other?
What methods do you use to measure progress and how do you make decisions to adjust things if you feel it's required?

I track daily macros during the week more rigidly than weekends, when I get there, I use more an eyeball approach. And use Mifflin St. Jeor for calculation.
Utilise MFP as a base line, although it's not 100%, it's a pretty good benchmark and as long as I'm within 5%/10% in either direction I'm good
Measure progress through, energy, clothing, mirror, scales once a week and how I'm getting on in the gym

My approach has worked well for me in the context of what I want from my training and diet. I'm not aiming to look like someone who could step on stage or a photoshoot, nor do I want to. So a ripped washboard 6pack isn't my aim. Fit, healthy, look decent enough naked or around a pool, whilst still trying to enjoy life.

lol T5 is great if you actually get one that's ephedrine based as most of the alternatives are Sh1T. that said cheque drops are better pre workout

Hey buddy - I'm told it is ephedrine based, via a good mate whos' been using it for months wit great success

You're always taking a risk with UGL and var I'm afraid. It's one of the more widely faked tabs around

Is it also likely that a company such as Intex Pharma likely to be more legit? they have a site, list the products and means to verify the distributor.

I'm a it wary of ordering var now

IIRC the last time there was some large scale lab testing done (which was a while ago now) no 50mg var came up as being what it was meant to be.... not much var did at all I think actually

So the 10mg are likely to be more genuine and better quality? if going for 10mg and looking to dose at 50mg a day, would it be best to split it 30 morning / 20 evening or vice versa or take 5 tabs in one go at any time of the day?
